From spreadsheet to Wallet: how a club gave every member a digital membership card
October 2026
Midshires Marksmen is a members' club. Its membership secretary, Jim Skipper, kept the member list in a spreadsheet and wanted each member to carry a card on their phone: name, role, membership number, and, for the future, a code that could be checked at the range.
Before: a spreadsheet and a PowerPoint produced card in a clip on badge holder.
After: about 60 members with a club ID card in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. More than half had added it within three days of the roll-out. At the range, if required, the club can do random scans of the card's QR code with a phone to confirm the member.
How the club did it
- Designed the card in the Studio. Club logo and colors, the member's name and role, the membership number as the barcode.
- Imported the members from the spreadsheet. One upload created a card for every member and emailed each one a link to add it to their wallet. New members are added the same way, or enroll themselves from a link the club shares.
In Jim's words
“The roll out worked well so thanks for all your help.”
