1. Create an account
Sign up and you start with 50 welcome credits — enough to design a pass (10 credits) and issue it to dozens of customers (1 credit per installed pass). No credit card required.
You do not need an Apple Developer account or Google Wallet API access — passes are signed and delivered under Pass Studio's certificates. More on certificates →
2. Design a pass
Open the Studio and pick a pass type — coupon, loyalty card, membership, or event ticket. Everything is visual: colors, logo, fields, barcode. The live preview shows exactly what the pass will look like in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, front and back.
- Fields — add the values your pass shows (points, tier, expiry, seat…). Fields can be updated later for one holder or for everyone at once, with a push.
- Barcode — choose shared (everyone gets the same code) or unique (each customer gets their own — the basis for loyalty and redemption tracking).
- Locations — optionally add store locations so the pass surfaces on the lock screen nearby.
3. Put it on a phone
Pick whichever distribution channel fits — they all deliver to both wallets. Most merchants start with the QR code:
- QR code — every pass gets a scannable QR right in the Studio's Distribute panel. Print it for the counter, the window, packaging, or an ad — customers point their camera at it and the pass is in their wallet in one tap. No app, no typing.
- Share link — the same destination as a link: copy it from the Studio and send it any way you like.
- Public issuance form — a hosted page where customers enter their details and receive a personalized pass with an auto-assigned member ID. Ideal behind a QR code on signage.
- Branded email — Pass Studio sends the customer an email with official Add to Apple Wallet / Add to Google Wallet buttons.
- Shopify — connect your store and passes are issued automatically on paid orders. Shopify setup →
- API — issue programmatically from your own system. Integration Guide →
4. Update it live
Passes stay connected after they're saved. Change a field in the Studio and push — every holder's pass updates on their phone, with an optional lock-screen notification. Award loyalty points at the counter with the POS staff app and the customer watches their balance change before they leave the register.
